I’ve downloaded and tested more than a dozen meditation and mindfulness apps on my Apple Watch Series 8.
But I narrowed my list down to options that let me set positive intentions and become less reactive to negative thoughts.
In this post, I provide a list of these apps with a brief explanation for each, with the specific focus being on their usefulness.

Key Takeaways
- I highly recommend Meditopia, Headspace, Insight Timer, Ten Percent Happier, Sattva, Breethe, Omnava, and Calm.

- You’ll love these suggestions because they can help you improve your mental health without involving a personal trainer.
What are the Best Mediation and Mindfulness Apps for Apple Watch?
The following is a list of free and paid health apps that provide the tools you need to enhance your mindfulness practice anywhere, anytime:
1. Meditopia
Meditopia has had a very simple goal from the very beginning. That’s to provide the content and tools you need to improve your mental health and elevate your peace of mind.
And to be fair, I like to describe it as usefulbecause it gives you more for less.
I’m talking about access to 1,000+ breathing and meditation workouts and a list of curated audio content, including relaxing music and mindfulness stories. If anything, you’re getting more from this than what an alternative such as Calm brings to the table.
Meditopia can even monitor, collect, and display metrics such as your total session time, mindfulness minutes, current streaks, and weekly performance.

2. Headspace
Get Headspace for meditation and sleep if you are just getting started on your mindfulness journey. The app has hundreds of helpful content, which you can use based on what you want or how you feel.
You’ll find it useful because it gives you access to the tools and resources you need to manage stress, sleep better, and become a healthier version of yourself.
By using Headspace to find identify tension and find your focus, you can easily build resilience and elevate your peace of mind.
There’s even a community aspect to it, which allows you to meditate with your friends and family and connect with people from around the world who share your interests.

3. Insight Timer
Insight Timer gives you free access to hundreds of guided meditations categorized by factors such as experience, mood, time, and problems.
Because Insight Timer allows you to connect with like-minded people online, you can build or join a community in which you meditate together. This, if anything, is a great way to motivate yourself to be mindful and better than you currently are on this journey.
You do get at most 90% of the library at no cost. However, if you want 100% access to all the features, which make up the remaining 10%, you’ll need to become a premium member for $10 a month or $60 a year.

4. Ten Percent Happier
Get Ten Percent Happier if you’re looking to improve your mood and stay focused.
Within the app are three categories of meditation: Quick Hit, Daily Does, and Talks. Daily Does contains audio lesson recordings that last for about 10 minutes each, while the Talks and Daily Hits features short audio lessons.
You can listen to content in the Talks and Quick Hit if you’re short on time and Daily Hit when you have more time to spare, particularly on the weekends.
Each guided audio recording is clear with a friendly presentation, which feels like a normal conversational you’d have with your best friend. Furthermore, you’ll receive audio suggestions each day, which is incredibly helpful if you don’t have a meditation plan in mind.

5. Sattva Meditations & Mantras
Sattva has its roots in ancient meditation practices. And in it is a catalog of chants and mantras good for spicing your sessions.
Like Ten Percent Happier, Sattva lets you perform silent meditations with its timer tool, which you can increase or decrease as you like.
It synchronizes with the same app on your smartphone. So if you listen to a curated session on your iPhone and favorite it, the same session will appear on your Apple Watch.
This feature is great because it gives you complete control over the content you can add to your Apple Watch.

6. Breethe
Many of my friends often praise the Breethe as the ultimate meditation tool. And, after trying it out for about a week, I understand why.
With over 1700 exercises, Breethe stands out as the one app that gives you more content than many similar options.
After creating an account, you get access to a user dashboard, which includes about 5 different meditation modes. Each mode offers different lessons accompanied by special music to help you relax and stay focused without voiceovers.
Plus, new guides are available every day.
The audio lessons with subtle and calming background music are high quality and equally professional. However, the audio never changes, which makes me dislike this app because it gets me to keep doing the same thing repeatedly.
